Use Social Bookmarking the Right Way for Effective Online Marketing

Most, if not all, online marketers are aware of the two most popular internet marketing strategies: search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM). But there is another newcomer to join the ranks of effective marketing strategies: social bookmarking. Bookmarking is originally used to provide users the chance to store their favorite bookmarks on the web and share them with friends, relatives and other users. Ever since its popularity, marketers have been using its benefits in enhancing their marketing efforts. 

If you’re fairly new to the subject, here are some effective ways of how to do social bookmarking the right way. 

Create good content 

Users and you yourself are naturally attracted to worthwhile topics. Interesting headlines that deliver stories equally interesting content are generally the ones that are most popular with social bookmarking users. If you’re maintaining a website and want it to gain some readership, be sure to create topics with stellar contents. Sometimes, it takes only a single most creative and catchy topic to create a successful viral marketing. 

Avoid spamming 

Nobody likes spammers. If you want your bookmarking adventures to be uneventful and marketing efforts to be successful, don’t spam other users. It is quite enough to post bookmarks once, acceptable twice, but just plain annoying thrice and more. Interact with the community 

One important aspect to remember when delving into social bookmarking is that it’s a community, hence the operative term social. It is not merely enough to just bookmark or post without bothering to know your target audience better. Again, it is of critical importance for them to get to know you better. You should make time to interact with the community and update with personally with what’s happening in your business.
