If you have been banging your head against a brickwall, wondering just how to break into that elite club of people who are actually making money online, you may have come across a product called “One Week Marketing”. If you are not familiar with it, or with Jennifer Leadbetter (AKA PotPieGirl) the author, you may be wondering “Is One Week Marketing any good?”.

In the vast ocean of products, all of which claim that they will be the thing to get you started on your journey of making money online, One Week Marketing shines out like a beacon. You may have realized by now that when it comes to making money online, it is difficult to decide exactly who has good intentions and who doesn’t-it’s a real “dog-eat-dog” world and unfortunately, not everything is what it may at first seem.

However, there are a good number of honorable people working out there online who WILL help you and who provide good, useful information for free-often on forums or on their blogs. This is how I came across Jennifer.

In June 2008, I had been searching for information about making Squidoo webpages (for those who don’t know, Squidoo is a free, online resource for making quick webpages) and her name cropped up. I read her blog and decided to email her-as she sounded like she had started off a bit like me-an overworked mom who just wanted to crack this “making money online” thing! I was very surprised when I got a really encouraging reply that very same day. I remember her words well-below is an extract from her email:

“Welcome to the internet marketing world! Don’t worry about ‘technical skills’ – what all this takes is an ability and a willingness to learn.. AND to make mistakes…haha!

Yes, it can be hard to mix mothering of a house full of kids with learning a new skill (ie, starting your own business), but just remember – what you do the next 6 months to a year could potentially change ALL your years after that! If you keep at it and work smart, today, June 12th, can be very different for you and your family in 2009.

How her words ring true now! I have worked really hard over the last 11 months, but can jubilantly say that I now earn a living online! Yes, I do have to pinch myself regularly, but my little business is continuing to go from strength to strength.

How did I do it?

Well, in October, I got hold of Jennifer’s “One Week Marketing Plan” on the first day of its release. Up until then, I had certainly made some good progress, but having decided to try free methods of making money online, OWM was exactly what I needed to co-ordinate my haphazard efforts. What it did for me was to give a structure to the way I worked-a day to day plan of “what to do”. If you have already ventured into internet marketing, you will have realized that there are just so many ways of making money that finding a path and sticking to it can be very difficult!

Even though I have now ventured into the scary world of building my own websites and doing PPC, One Week Marketing is the foundation which has made it all possible.
