Big banks that got big bailout bucks should return the favor by lending more to qualified small businesses, President Barack Obama says.

 

In his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday, Obama said too many small business owners remain unable to get credit despite administration steps to jump-start lending, which was virtually frozen when the financial crisis took hold last year.

 

“These are the very taxpayers who stood by America’s banks in a crisis, and now it’s time for our banks to stand by creditworthy small businesses and make the loans they need to open their doors, grow their operations and create new jobs,”

 

Obama said. “It’s time for those banks to fulfill their responsibility to help ensure a wider recovery, a more secure system and more broadly shared prosperity,” said Obama.

 

The president said the administration will “take every appropriate step to encourage them to meet those responsibilities.” He did not specify what those steps might be.

 

 Obama’s were the latest instance of the populist tone he has employed to pressure the financial industry. Earlier this week, Obama criticized the banking and finance industries for working through Congress to try to weaken the Consumer Financial Protection Agency he have proposed.

 

He accused them of “using every bit of influence they have to maintain the status quo that has maximized their profits at the expense of American consumers, despite the fact that recently those same American consumers bailed them out as a consequence of the bad decisions that they made.

 

 “The financial bailout package cost taxpayers $700 billion.In his address Saturday, Obama said small businesses have created nearly two-thirds of the nation’s new jobs over the past decade and a half.

 

 “They must be at the forefront of our recovery,” he said. This year’s $787 billion economic stimulus package made $5 billion in tax breaks available to small business and cut the costs of Small Business Administration loans, Obama said.

 

 Last week, he asked Congress to increase the size of some SBA loans and announced a plan to provide low interest loans to small banks that agree to lend more money to small businesses.

Twitter is the next generation of social network. It allows you to connect with people from all over the world, it allows you to build your business, it also allows you to find your tons and thousands of friends that will and probably be your wife. I’m just kidding, now Twitter has been the talk of many people in a short time. Last but not least, you can also monetize it. But the question is how? How do you monetize Twitter?

1. Why would you care on what or who is Twitter?

You need to get on Twitter to build relationships and your network. It’s a way of free advertising and the people who are on Twitter aren’t like the kids on MySpace or Friendster. They actually have the money you want and they love to spend it, on useful things of course.

2. Followers. Are they important?

You might think if I’m here to stay connected with my friends, why must I get lots of followers for? It’s useless, I don’t even know them.

Now if you want to build your business, get noticed by some of the leaders out there, and maybe do some joint ventures, but when you have no followers on Twitter, you look like nothing. Absolutely nothing, nobody cares about you.

3. So what’s the best way to get money fast on twitter? How do you monetize it?

Now, I can’t tell you the best way on how to monetize twitter here although the title of this article is how to monetize Twitter. But I can tell you the worst way to monetize your twitter.

Here is how; you write up some creative words within 140 characters, sounds like you’re selling something, then put up a shorten URL in your tweet.

Believe me, you won’t get any money or you won’t get lots of money, because that’s not the way to monetize twitter.

What you want is a relationship with your followers and they will buy from you. People buy from the guy they likes or the guy they trusts, not the guy that looks great and have a bunch of great and exclusive products.

4. Having a lot of followers but I’m unable to know and speak to all of them. Isn’t it useless?

Just think of it like this, I got two grandmothers, two grandfathers, one mother, one dad, 10 aunts, 9 uncles, 15 cousins, 16 nephews. I don’t talk to all of them each and every day, maybe never for some of them. But regardless, they’re still my families.

So the point on having a lot of followers on Twitter is that you want to direct them somewhere, maybe to your list, or get them subscribed to your blog. That way, you’re going to build a close relationship with them.

5. So, how do you get lots of followers on Twitter fast?

Honestly, I don’t have any secrets for this. I’ll just tell you what I do on a daily basis. I’ll go and click on my followers’ link, and then I’ll choose three people to click on their link so that I get to see their profile and their followers. Then I’ll click on their followers and start to follow their followers’, this is the best bred.

Because not all people will follow you and of course some will, so you want to find those that will absolutely follow you, and this is the way that I learned.

The second one is, providing content, fun tweets, great quips and quotes, also write some articles or maybe make some videos, then put a link for them to your twitter account. Like this one! That’s it for today, have a great day guys.
