After an affiliate marketer chooses a product to promote, he is given a unique website link called an “affiliate link”. In this link, the unique identity of an affiliate marketer is attached. The affiliate marketer is required to promote this affiliate link as much as he can. For this purpose websites, forums, blogs, newsletters and many other ways are used. Whenever a visitor clicks on an affiliate link to go to the merchant’s website and make a purchase, the affiliate is credited.

This means that if someone looks at your affiliate link and removes your affiliate id from that link and then uses it to purchase products, you will not be credited. The reason is that merchant will not be able to know which affiliate had sent this buyer. The only way to get credited is the complete affiliate link.

Usually the affiliate link is in this form:
http://affiliatemarketingnetworkprogram.net
?aff_id=someidlike123

In this URL there are two parts:
a) http://affiliatemarketingnetworkprogram.net

It is the link to the merchant website.

b) aff_id = someidlike123
It is the unique affiliate id of the affiliate marketer.

Risk

You can see in the above example that it is really very easy to remove the trailing affiliate id from the affiliate link. Anyone can remove your affiliate id and visit the merchant website to purchase. When this happens, you lose the commission that was rightfully yours. This is a problem for the affiliate marketer.

How to Resolve This Issue

There is a solution for this issue. You can hide your affiliate id in the affiliate URL in a way that it cannot be stripped off. But this can only be done if you are using your own hosting. Just follow the following steps to do this:

Using your file manager, make a new HTML file. Name this file relevant to the product you are promoting. In this file use the coding from this website

After putting the code from the above mentioned website, save your file with an HTML extension. Now when someone types your personalized web address, the code in the HTML file will show them your affiliate link in such a way that they will not be able to edit it. They will not know that the link they are clicking is an affiliate link.

But if someone still does not want to use an affiliate id, he can do that by deleting their cookie files and changing some internal files. But the chances of this act are less likely as most of the people don’t have much time. And it is not giving them any loss if they are using your affiliate id to purchase something on the internet.

Affiliate URL is the link that is promoted by the affiliates to generate their affiliate revenue. This URL contains their affiliate id to identify them. Don’t use the plain and simple affiliate URL, because it will be really easy for anyone to remove your id and make a purchase. If this happened you would not collect commission, even though you had sent the user to make a purchase. The solution to this is to hide your affiliate id in your affiliate URL so that it cannot be easily removed. For this purpose you need to have your own hosting.

After being quite active on Twitter a few months now, i’m definately starting to see it’s amazing advantages for my online business.

However, there’s one thing which often goes overlooked, and which I will explain here…

The Twitter Auto Direct Message.

This is not a rant, but more of a help article, as I want YOU to be as successful as you possibly can.

So let’s begin…

The ‘Auto Direct Message’ is one of Twitter’s most powerful tools for Internet Marketing, yet most people use and abuse this terribly. This is one of the BIGGEST reasons that it’s frowned upon, as well as the fact that people hate the impersonal approach to social networking.

And that’s what it is, a social networking website. Not a constant advertising billboard. People will hate you for it and unfollow you.

However, if you phrase it right by using good copy, you’ll see:

1. An increase in conversation between you and your followers
2. An increase in click-through rates for your links
3. A resulting increase in conversions.

Don’t forget, you only have around 115 characters (depending on what Auto Direct Message service you use), so make every word count!

How do you stop being an online marketer just barely making sales to Top producer or Super Affiliate? If you are like me, you have received plenty of emails from marketing guru’s telling you that if you click on the link in the email and purchase this new revolutionary product, they will also give you a bunch of extra programs to run your business. These marketing Guru’s will actually tell you they personally have sold thousands of these products and all of these people cannot be wrong. I was very interested to see the same individuals at the top of each of these top sales listings.

So it makes you wonder how these folks can be the top sellers for every product out there. Affiliate programs are the quickest way to get started in online marketing. Just about all affiliate marketing programs are free to join and you just have to sign up to sell the product, no stocking of product or shipping to deal with. Just think, no upset customers wanting to return products and money coming in on a daily basis. I know you are thinking that this all sounds too simple.

You are right, there is work involved to becoming successful with affiliate marketing. The first thing you need to start with is your own website. As you join each program you will see that all the affiliate programs will give you a website with your own affiliate link attached to it. The good part about these websites is that they look fantastic and have all the bells and whistles you need to make a sale. However, this website looks exactly like all the other affiliate websites and you cannot change or add anything to the website

If you design your own website, you can put whatever you want on the pages. When you get visitors to your website, they will appreciate the content and even if they do not buy that product, you could also cross sell another product to them. So having your own website is preferably and you can use the affiliate link to get customers to your website where you can upsell or sell other products

Of course, you do have to provide some “extras” so people will buy from you. You know you are not the only person selling this product, there are literally hundreds selling the same product. You are up against stiff competition from the Super Affiliates who can offer lots of bonuses. I am sure you have spent thousands of dollars on products you have purchased over the years, you can think about giving away those to people who buy from you. If you don’t have any products to give away, how about a newsletter. Another idea that many super affiliates use is to offer a special “members” area of your website, with special content. Whatever you can offer for free, that will work.

Let’s switch gears now and talk about links and how you need to utilize them to increase your rankings. Linking requires you to have a beau coup amount of links back to your site. If you just put a small amount of effort into your links, you can get a page 3 ranking in just a few days. I wouldn’t use the link exchanges that you will find all over the net, they usually bury your link somewhere. Google is looking for sites that are similar to yours and that your link is very prominent on the site. For instance, if you website is about cat grooming linking to another cat website would be great. I would suggest you actually skip the links and spend more time writing articles.

Lastly, one thing that every top marketing guru has is a list of potential customers. Remember it is all about the numbers, so the more emails they can send out the better the chance of sales. The only problem with lists is many of them are not good. It is important the people on your list are interested in what you have to sell.

To start on your journey to Super Affiliate, remember the facts that I mentioned here. Even though super affiliates are making a lot of money, the product owner is the one making even more money. That is your real goal, to develop a program that you can sell and have other people be your affiliates.
