Internet Marketing—How to Choose a Company by the Product
Very often choosing an internet marketing company is based mainly on an emotional response. Rather than research a company and its product line or services we succumb to persuasive marketing. Income testimonials and the implied earnings of prelaunch campaigns are extremely powerful marketing tools. But never forget, before you choose a company you have to be able to successfully market and sell a commodity of some form or you will eventually have nothing but empty promises and shattered dreams.
Before you select and invest, you must identify the products or services. Is there anything tangible or are you really marketing an opt-in. In effect, marketing and “selling” the opportunity.
Assuming there are tangible products or services, do you “believe” in them. Would you buy them? Do you, or would you use them? Are you passionate about them and their worth?
I heard a great qualifier recently. In any situation, ask yourself if you would feel comfortable approaching your mother with your intended proposition or product.
If all seems to be in order up to this point continue with the following checklist. Some areas to research will be product:
- Value.
- Demand.
- Market competition (must have some).
- Uniqueness.
- Income producing potential and typical return on investment.
- Benefit to your business.
- Foreseeable future demand.
These areas should be a good starting place for you. Consider the product or products that you will be offering and see how they measure up. Any product that qualifies in these areas will indicate a good possibility for you.
This is by no means the complete criteria for determining your choice of a company, but it should not be treated lightly. After all, you will be marketing and selling their products.
Internet marketing business principles are the same as brick and mortar businesses. A large advertising budget, an impressive looking building and all the appearances of success does not necessarily reflect the condition of their financial statement or your future one.
Appearances can be deceiving and unfortunately everyone using the internet for business can not be trusted. You must do your own due diligence.
Don’t be fooled by a website’s glitz and glitter. Before you choose a company and invest your time, effort and money take a good hard look at the inside. A good hard look now may save you from learning a hard lesson later.
